Abstract
Samples from hydrothermal Sb-Au mineralization located in the western part of Vysna Boca village, (Nizke Tatry Mountains) were investigated using reflected light microscopy and electron microprobe. Ore minerals occur mostly in N-S striking quartz-carbonate veins hosted by tectonic zones in Variscan crystalline basement represented by an I-type biotite granodiorite to tonalite (the Dumbier type). Mineralization was formed during several stages. A quartz-arsenopyrite-pyrite stage is the oldest one. It is followed by sphalerite, galena and other Pb,Sb,Cu-sulphides. The gold crystallized as one of the latest mineral in the sulphide stage and typically contains between 12-21 wt.% Ag regardless to the mineral association. Higher Ag content is related to later sulphidie rich mineral assemblage.
