Abstract
In this study, the antioxidant properties in FAME were checked using propyl gallate (PG), butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT), tert-butylhydroquinone (TBHQ) and butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA). Studies have been done using PetroOXY device in at a temperature of 110 °C and a pressure of 500 kPa. According to the standard (EN 14112), the antioxidant stability of FAME should be at least 8 hours. Fresh FAME no addition antioxidant showed 4.65 h oxidation stability and it is necessary to apply an antioxidant to FAME to increase its oxidation stability. Among the tested antioxidants, FAME showed propyl gallate (PG) the greatest ability to block free radicals until 10.94h. Also butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA) met the standard (EN 14112) until 9.78h. The butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) mixed with FAME showed stability until 8.68h. The FAME with addition tert-Butylhydroquinone (TBHQ) showed the lowest antioxidant properties until 7.04h.
