Abstract
Aim of the publication was to show the process of designing, building, and programing an experimental portable charger for lithium-ion cells using a low-power photovoltaic panel, a microcontroller with dedicated modules for this microcontroller for educational applications. The publication shows the issue of engineering education, emphasizes the full integration of textbook learning methods, hardware, software, and methods of using them in the teaching of a modern engineer. During the analyse, the design of the device was made using CAD software, the elements were printed in 3D printing technology, electronic systems were created, components were assembled, the microcontroller was programmed, and the device was tested. The aim of the project was to show the possibility of using information technology in engineering education.
