Abstract
Aim of the publication was to show the process of designing, building, and programing a laboratory laser plotter completed for educational applications. Another aim of the project was to show the possibility of using information technology in engineering education. The publication describes the issue of programing a laboratory plotter that can be equipped with the use of available electronic parts. During the analyses, the power, time, and resolution of the plotter drawing values must be assigned to create the designed engravings. The aim of the analyses was to obtain the accuracy of the laser plotter for the intended use for technical application of engraving; it was proposed to select an electric motor, laser diode, electronic parts, and a simple Arduino computer that could be combined in a student laboratory to obtain the planned results. The publication presents the results and simplified analysis needed to create a characterization of the components of the laser plotter equipped.
