Abstract
This study presents a comparison of energy harvesting capability of cantilever beam harvester based on non-auxetic and auxetic material. The analysed harvester consisted of two layers: piezoelectric and carrying. Performed numerical calculations allowed to assess influence of an auxetic section in the carrying layer on stress distribution in the piezoelectric and amount of generated electric power. An analysis was conducted for two material variants of the carrying layer: steel and polymer. Presented results showed that energy harvesting efficiency can be increased by introducing auxetic region into the carrying layer of cantilever beam energy harvester.
