Abstract
This paper is a report on the electrical conductivity properties of ceramic TiO2 materials sintered at different temperatures within the range of 1200-1400degreesC (1473-1673 K). The measurements were taken in the temperature range 650-1080degreesC (923-1353 K) and oxygen partial pressure, p(O-2), 10-10(5) Pa. The determined values of the p(O-2) exponent differ from those predicted by defect disorder models. This difference allows us to evaluate both electronic and ionic components of the electrical conductivity. Using the Nerst-Einstein equation, the determined ionic component was verified against diffusion data in available literature. The energy gap was determined from both optical and electrical studies.
