Abstract

The aim of this project was to compare the most common used coherent scatterers identification methods on the SAR images. The process of stable scatterers identification is crucial in radar interferometry and polarimetry. The analysis using multiple SAR images requires very accurate matching in the corregistration process. Without that, the results of SAR data processing can be less accurate or even cannot be obtained. In this process, the most frequently used method analyses the coherency between the radar images. The other methods that can be used are based on: amplitude of radar signal, dispersion of the amplitude of radar signal, Log - Cumulants (LC) and Signal to Clutter Ratio (SCR). This methods were tested on eight ENVISAT images obtained between 2008 and 2009. Thanks to the more complex information in the SAR polarimetric data the coherent scatterers can be identified using single image.
