Abstract
An experimental verification of a novel method for sidelobe level (SLL) reduction designated for multi-beam antenna arrays is presented. In this method non-uniform amplitude taper excitation is obtained with the use of additional two-way power dividers introduced at the outputs of the utilized Butler matrix. This paper presents array factor calculations, electromagnetic simulations and measurements of the developed and manufactured 8-element dual-polarized antenna array operating at 3 GHz. © 2016 IEEE.
