Abstract
Industrial gasifiers for conversion of coals were compared to select the most suitable for production of synthesis gas. The coal quality and process conditions were taken into consideration. The entrained flow gasifiers with direct quench, bituminous coal slurries and steam/O-2 mixt. were recommended for use for chem. industry. In fluidized bed reactors CO2 was found an efficient gasification agent for the industrial scale.
