Abstract
The authors have proposed a new research methodology and new, original parameters of the acoustic speech signal, which when used as components of the features vector, bring additional information concerning the parameter changes of the vocal tract (regarded as a sound source), manifesting as deformations of the speech signal (pathological speech). The principal element of the new methodology is the fact that, in contrast to the other studies concerning the acoustics of speech, the main subject of the study is not the speech itself, but the deformation developed as a result of the disease. In the presented work authors presents the results of the study that was intended as an attempt to systematize the methods of construction of intelligent systems for medical diagnosis, based on the acoustic signal of the speech.
