Abstract
The silicon strip detectors represent a new class of position-sensitive detectors. High detection efficiency for the X-Ray photons (4 - 20 keV), room working temperature and integration with the front-end electronics allow for their application in X-ray powder diffractometers. The analysis of the geometrical aberrations for the theta -2 theta diffractometer equipped with such a detector is given. The preliminary experimental results are presented for the DRON diffractometer working with a prototype detector.
