Abstract
Stochastic model of the longwall face mining with use of two-way shearer mining technology, has been described in the present study. A formula describing production cycle duration defined by the author (Snopkowski, 1997) was used in the model. Some modifications comprising values of chosen parameters of the production cycle in form of density function, have been introduced to the mentioned formula. Simulation procedure based on the developed model has also been characterized. Modeling procedure with use of Excel calculation sheet is its major advantage. Procedure defining boundaries of the interval, within which the output value should range, in real conditions of the longwall face, taking into consideration eventual instability of chosen parameters during production cycle, was also proposed. The present study is a continuation of former studies concerning similar problems (Snopkowski, 2000; 2002; 2005).
