Abstract
The economic activity, including the investment project, requires the concept of financing (Marcinek 2006). It is the key element in the implementation of investment projects, and the difficulties increase in case of big investment projects when the financing exceed the possibilities of one entity. The Project concept and its implementation requires participation of many entities. The development of finance creates the new opportunities for the financing of projects. It includes the structures of integrated financing related to securitization and project finance. Project finance constitutes the structure, which objective is to set up the special purpose company (SPV). By means of issuing the securities, this company receives the funds for activity, which are secured by the future cash flows from the current activity or by the assets (receivables) moved to the special purpose company. The practical application of integrated finance (project finance) depends on the legal system and legal acts (Sierpinska, Kustra 2007). The article presents the short characteristics of investment projects, what includes the definition and the features of project and its participants. There are presented also the forms of projects' financing. The first form is the financing based on the balance sheet of the company, e.g. corporate financing. The next form is the project finance in the aspect of application in the coal mining industry.
