Abstract
The purpose of the paper is the development of a mathematical model of the nanoindentation test and the sensitivity analysis of the model output with respect to its parameters. The work was performed for specimens composed of TiAIN and TiN. The theory of elastic-plastic deformations is used for formulating of a mathematical model, which simulates multistage indentation. The tested material is unloaded partially in the intervals in the deformation steps. It is shown that an inverse analysis of nanocoatings mechanical properties of examined nanocoatings can be based on the measurements of indentation forces by using a cone indenter, as well as on the parameters of unloading and the geometry of the indent during the test. The presented results are helpful for a fundamental understanding of mechanical behavior of nanocoatings and for the development of new materials to be used in components of artificial hearts.
