Abstract
In the paper the problem of effectiveness of seismic profiling of attenuation and velocity of refracted P-wave in coal scam along mining excavation in conditions of exploitation coal scam edge above settled has been presented. The profiling of P-wave velocity changes was carried out according Dubinski method. For practical use of seismic attenuation profiling, special measurement and interpretation methodology has been prepared. The profiling of seismic attenuation requires a careful installing the sensors in such a manner that the measuring conditions of seismic wave be comparable in every point. One should avoid influence of a ricar-field in of wave excitation point in calculations of an attenuation coefficient. The measure of calculated attenuation is the value of attenuation coefficient based on determination of amplitude of refracted P-wavc. In the paper examples of attenuation coefficient and velocity of refracted wave changes in the zones of exploitation scam edge have been described. The usefulness of attenuation coefficient for such analysis has been underlined due to its greater sensitivity for changes of the state of stress and deformation in coal scam comparing to changes of refracted P-wave velocity.The value of an attenuation coefficient may change in repeatedly more percentage intervals as compared with changes of the value of seismic wave velocity. This issue has a significant practical meaning under operating conditions at large depths because wave velocity increases are smaller together with growth of stress. Whereas the attenuation coefficient increases diminish in a smaller degree as the stress increases. The attenuation coefficient may be more effective indicator of the state of stress and deformation as compared to seismic wave velocity under these conditions. It is shown that attenuation can be interested parameter complementary to refracted wav,.- velocity in coal scam, especially in high stress conditions.
