Abstract

Silver-selenide coatings with different content of Se have been electrodeposited galvanostaticitlly onto copper substrate from aqueous acid solutions, containing silver iodide complex. By cyclic voltarnmetry it was established that electrodeposition of the Ag-Se system was characterized by two cathodic maxima onto Pt substrate; pure silver is deposited during the first cathodic reaction and the next phase of Ag-Se system are formed at more negative potentials than the potential of silver deposition. By X-Ray analysis was confirmed, that in deposit Ag2Se phase is presented with excess of Ag. SEM shows that nearly stoichiometric Ag2Se deposit has dendritic morphology.
