Abstract
Sigma-phase Fe45.8Cr49Ni5.2 compound was investigated in the temperature range of 5–295 K using Mössbauer spectroscopy. The average center shift, [removed] , determined from the measured Mössbauer spectra was revealed to significantly depart from the Debye model in the temperature interval below ∼28 K i.e., in range where the sample is magnetic. The [removed]-values in that range decrease with T indicating an increase of the kinetic energy of the lattice vibrations. The maximum increase is equal to ∼2 meV at 5 K. The effect apparently reflects spin-phonon coupling. Analysis of the [removed] -data in the paramagnetic phase in terms of the Debye model yielded the value of 410(9) K for the Debye temperature.
