Abstract
Selected tribological properties of 55NiCrMoV7, X37CrMoV5-1, and 42CrMo4 steels, as well as of layers weld-surfaced using UTOP38 and F-818 wires, are presented. The research was conducted at 300°C under the conditions of sliding friction for the contact point between the ball and the disk. The volume wear indicator WV of particular materials was determined. The lowest value 128 mm3/Nm was obtained for the hardfacing layer of F-818 material and thus the highest abrasion resistance, while the worst 168 mm3/Nmwas the hardfacing layer of UTOP38 material and X37CrMoV5-1 steel. The profiles and surface of the abrasion traces were analysed. The most irregular surface after abrasion tests have padding welds layers. The highest friction coefficient is shown by the padding layer of F-818 material.
