Abstract
This paper presents a method for maintaining proper voltage sharing on a capacitor divider in the topology of a high step-down DC-DC converter. The converter uses a divider with three capacitors on the higher voltage side. The use of appropriate modulation and a passive balancing circuit ensures that the voltages across the capacitors are balanced. The method is very functional because the voltage balance is maintained in a natural way, which ensures the proper operation of a complex multi-source system. It is also a more reliable and less expensive method compared to the implementation of balancing by controlling the duty cycles.
