Abstract
The article presents the current state of the geothermal sector in Poland and outlines the potential for its further development in the context of key factors: resource-related, technological, market-based, and environmental. It places particular emphasis on the potential of innovative solutions, such as CO₂ - EGS systems, which use carbon dioxide as the working fluid. These technologies combine the production of clean geothermal energy with the possibility of anthropogenic CO₂ sequestration, representing an important direction for the development of the geothermal sector in Poland.
Streszczenie
Artykuł przedstawia aktualny stan sektora geotermalnego w Polsce oraz wskazuje możliwości jego dalszego rozwoju w kontekście kluczowych czynników: zasobowych, technologicznych, rynkowych i środowiskowych. Zwraca szczególną uwagę na potencjał innowacyjnych rozwiązań, takich jak systemy CO₂-EGS, które wykorzystują dwutlenek węgla jako medium robocze. Technologie te łączą produkcję czystej energii geotermalnej z możliwością sekwestracji antropogenicznego CO₂, stanowiąc istotny kierunek dla rozwoju sektora geotermalnego w Polsce.
