Abstract
Recent studies employing mineralogical, geochemical, and isotope analyses of the most common sulfides (pyrite, chalcopyrite, molybdenite) from the porphyry Myszków Mo-Cu-W deposit (Poland) have revealed their potential to preserve key-petrogenetic information on the mechanisms of metal enrichment and physicochemical conditions prevailing at the time of their crystallization. Moreover, systematic variations in the geochemical and isotopic signatures of pyrite revealed its potential as another exploration tool targeting the centers of porphyry-type mineralization. Finally, the ability of sulfides to incorporate trace elements, including critical raw materials, was comprehensively analyzed, critically evaluated, and discussed here.
