Abstract
Digital identification of the European Vehicle Number (EVN) using the Google Colaboratory (Google Colab, Colaboratory, Colab) development environment has a priority role in the comprehensive control of the functioning of the railway transport sector. In the environment of digital evolution, it provides data through automatic identification. The scientific research work was particularly based on the SMART method (S – Specific, M – Measurable, A – Achievable, R – Relevant, T – Time-bound). Its main objective is to present a practical approach to ensure the identification of the European Vehicle Number using the Google Colaboratory development environment – an interactive space. EVN has twelve digits. It is characterised by a compatible structure. Includes information on the technical characteristics of the railway vehicle. The EVN identification process involves steps using Python programming software tools. The realised solution enables the automatic identification of EVN, which is important for the mobility of the future. The work carried out has confirmed their effectiveness, and attention should also be paid to the quality of the input data. The results demonstrate that the realised theme should be extended to other identification elements applicable to engineering technical solutions. For example, in surveillance systems as well as infrastructure, superstructure management.
