Abstract

In December 2022 and in 2023 new borehole heat exchangers on Laboratory of Geoenergetics AGH University of Krakow were made. Currently there exist 46 boreholes for heat exchange between heat carrier and rock mass and two boreholes as geothermal doublet. Many case of construction of heat exchanger pipes were prepared. Also there are three cases of boreholes axis trajectory. Vertical, oblique and horizontal boreholes were drilled and equipped with suitable pipes. Thermal response tests were made. There is discussion on application of different borehole heat exchangers in the paper. Thermal conductivity tests of borehole heat exchangers were also made. This test is recommended for big borehole fields. Geothermal (ground) heat pumps are recommended by European Union for heating in individual objects and for new (fifth) generation of heating network (district heating and cooling). International market of heat pumps grows very fast (last time mostly ground source heat pumps). Many innovations has been put into use. Borehole heat exchangers use is independent on geology conditions. The energetic efficiency (unit heat power) is only different per unit depth.
