Abstract
A forest fire protection system may be considered successfully as acontext-aware system, which responds pro-actively to occurring threats, both in the phase of the routine monitoring of a forest area, as well as during a fire extinguishing action. The proposed system assumes the distribution of the network of detectors in forest sectors, which send basic parameters concerning the surroundings and weather. The information is processed in accordance with the multi-agent system architecture, and the obtained smart decisions, which support users, are the result of the proposed context processing.
