Abstract
The influence of implanted yttrium on the oxidation behavior of β-NiAl intermetallic compound has been studied in isothermal and thermal cycling conditions. It has been found that the presence of yttrium in the surface layer of the substrate improves the scale adhesion and reduces its growth rate. Possible explanation of these phenomena is suggested.
