Abstract
The history of professional qualifications to perform geodetic works in Poland has a long tradition, which dates back to 1952, when the institution of sworn surveyor was closed. The authorizations issued after 1952 had a different character, assuming in 1984 the form of authorizations granted in several scopes by the Surveyor General of Poland. The article presents changes in the legal approach to the profession of a surveyor and legal regulations concerning the law to perform works by surveyors. The various scopes of professional qualifications and the rules of obtaining them were discussed. An analysis of the works that can be performed under individual rights is also presented. Statistical data on professional qualifications in the field of geodesy and cartography are presented.
