Abstract
The presented paper describes a methodological change in a risk-oriented digital platform created to support the maintenance activities of a set of critical overhead cranes. The Monte Carlo simulation-based model behind the platform is composed of layers designed to update the data online, and one of the layers is meant to capture the features of the historical marginals by fitting theoretical parametric distributions. Previously, the fitting process was conducted independently for each overhead crane under the assumption of no dependencies. Now, the methodological change captures the dependency structure among the degradation marginals using copula approach. The main results of the paper are the discussion and validation of the new modelling steps introduced.
