Abstract
This article presents an analysis of a group of single branch filters. The analytical maximization of the harmonic reduction is examined based on the location of the maximum impedance filter characteristics and equivalent impedance of the mains, which primarily influence the efficiency of filtration. In addition, filter detuning from the reduced harmonics is considered. Certain formulae are established to design the optimal group of single branch filters and a group with the assumed degree of reduction of one of the harmonics. Furthermore, the impact of considering the resistances of the group of filter elements and mains in the analysis of the accuracy of the designated solution is examined. © 2021 The Author(s)
