Abstract
This paper presents the mathematical modeling and numerical simulation of a linear electromagnetic damper whose purpose is to assist the user during walking while harvesting energy. The proposed damper is based on the linear tubular permanent magnet generator and its application in wave energy conversion systems. It consists of a set of permanent magnets that move freely with respect to a series of air coils inside a housing made of magnetic iron PLA. The device is modeled ana analysis using lumped equivalent magnetic circuit (LEMC) and finite element method (FEM).
