Abstract
An implementation of fractional-order controller suitable for a magnetic levitation system is presented in this work. It is constructed from operational amplifiers as active cells and the main offered benefit with regards to the conventional implementation is the reduced number of active component count. This is achieved thanks to the voltage summation operation offered by the operational amplifier. The performance of the controller has been evaluated by employing the OrCAD PSpice simulator and using the model of the OP07 operational amplifier discrete IC component.
