Abstract
Auscultation of temporomandibular joints is often difficult for physicians to interpret. Sounds from two joints affect each other and can give an ambiguous diagnosis. This paper describes the proposed setup for auscultation using commercially available electronic stethoscopes with additional synchronization features. Synchronously acquired signals are information for further analysis using diagnosis supporting algorithms. The proposed method of synchronization is necessary for further research which we carry out in the field of TMJ auscultation. The result of the work is the development of a working setup compatible with stethoscopes. Verification of appropriate synchronization signal parameters has also been carried out, indicating the progress direction of the future signals analyzing and representation methodology.
