Abstract
The article describes the results of an analysis of problems experienced by Polish mining enterprises when processing large amounts of data. A literature review identifies some common characteristics of these problems within the field of Big Data that are particularly evident in the case of spatial data. Furthermore, the determinants of these enterprises’ ability to implement new technologies for large-scale processing of spatial data sets are enumerated.
