Abstract
The Jubilee of Century of AGH University of Science & Technology in Cracow is the jubilee of Century of Faculty of Mining & Geoengineering. It was first and the only one faculty when history of AGH UST begins. This paper also shows the background of development of mining sciences in Poland and Europe before foundation of Mining Academy in 1919 (a former name of AGH UST). The structure of the university and profile of an engineer graduated from AGH UST was also presented. The tradition and ideas cultivated at the university since very beginning produced a special bonds in the one big family of students, alumni, scientific workers and the friends of AGH UST.
Streszczenie
Jubileusz 100-lecia Akademii Górniczo-Hutniczej im. Stanisława Staszica w Krakowie to jednocześnie 100 lat Wydziału Górnictwa i Geoinżynierii, pierwszego wydziału uruchomionego na AGH. W artykule, na tle rozwoju uczelni górniczych w Europie, przedstawiono rozwój nauk górniczych w Polsce, aż po utworzenie Akademii Górniczej w 1919 roku. Zaprezentowano strukturę uczelni, a także sylwetkę Inżyniera, Absolwenta AGH. Przedstawiono idee i tradycje, kultywowane na AGH, które tworzą wyjątkową więź i łączą w jedną dużą rodzinę Studentów, Absolwentów, Pracowników i Przyjaciół AGH.
