Abstract
We consider tumor growth model for two-dimensional isogeometric finite analysis simulations. It involves several quantities, such as tumor angiogenic factor (TAF) generated by oxygen-starved tumor cells, vasculature graph and the oxygen it provides, extra-cellular matrix, damaged extra-cellular matrix, and tumor cells density. The model involves a total of 21 parameters. In this paper we focus on the sensitivity analysis of the model, as well as on tuning the parameters of the isogeometric analysis simulation to match the tumor growth evolution for particular patient specific case. We select the parameters that are the most sensitive, and we utilize evolutionary algorithms for tuning these parameters to obtain a desired tumor growth evolution.
