Abstract
A scheme and results of model calculations of CO2 exploitation during periodic operation of Zuber I borehole in the Krynica are briefly described. Fully-fledged thermodynamic approach and stable carbon isotope techniques have been used in parallel. The calculations have been based on SpanWagner EOS and model of CO2 dissolution in water developed by Diamond and Akinfiev. As a result a few technical parameters could be determined (the Joule-Thomson effect at the water table, dynamics of heat transfer from heating jacket to the flowing gas, tightness of the wax-type layer). The agreement between the calculation results and observation data has been obtained assuming that gaseous CO2 entering the borehole space should be characterized by delta C-13 value ca. -1 parts per thousand. This result confirms the origin of gaseous CO2 from thermal decomposition of carbonate rocks of marine origin. Mass balance of CO2 fluxes together with carbon isotope data allowed to determine the amount of water in the direct impact zone of the well. Calculated volume of water is equal 3,9 m3 and remains in good agreement with long-term mean daily water production -3,6 m(3).
