Abstract
The vision of the internet of Things has been around for some years, however, the widespread realization of this vision is just now starting. The field of IoT solutions continues to be a good deal in an exceeding state of flux, as various different industries, research institutes, and completely different entities plan to bring the IoT into reality. This adds another level of complexity to the already pretty tangled mess that the IoT is these days, with its varied technologies, standards, organizations, sectors, and flavors. The implementation of IoT based adaptive manufacturing (IoT-AM) will change the face of production and will bring new opportunities for growth for the foundry industry, by closing up on the gap between customers and producers either side would be benefitted. Hence, IoT-AM is the rise of the new era of evolution for industries. © 73rd World Foundry Congress "Creative Foundry", WFC 2018 - Proceedings. All Rights Reserved.
