Abstract
Both hyperthermia and ablation treatments are common medical procedures employed to thermal destruction of malignant tumors. Such interstitial techniques are based on the insertion of a needle applicators into hepatic cancer and then applying a microwave heating of such tissue to certain therapeutic levels. The aim of presented paper is to estimate the temperature and Arrhenius thermal damage profiles of liver tissue produced by a multi-slot coaxial antenna with a 50 !! feed. The changes in microwave input power elevations of used antenna is the simplest way to obtain the tumor heating at the requested level and achieve a state where all cancerous cells are irreparably damaged.
