Abstract
In the paper heavy metal oxide glass co-doped with Er 3+ /Yb 3+ , Ho 3+ /Yb 3+ and triply-doped with Er 3+ /Ho 3+ /Yb 3+ ions have been presented. Glass from Bi 2 O 3 - GeO 2 - Ga2O 3 - Na 2 O system has been characterized in terms of thermal and spectroscopic properties. As a result of energy transfer between lanthanides ions and superposition of emission bands (Er 3+ : 4 I 11/2 → 4 I 13/2 , Ho 3+ : 5 I 6 → 5 I 7 ), broadband luminescence spectra in the range of 2.7 -2.85 μm under 980 nm laser diode excitation was achieved.
