Abstract
A series of highly porous Sr1-xYxTiO3 samples (with x = 0, 2, 4, 6 and 8 mol%) were prepared by sol-gel method and sintered at 1200 C. Single phase materials were obtained for up to 6 mol% of yttrium admixture as confirmed by XRD measurements. For samples with 8 mol% of dopant, traces of Y2Ti2O7 phase were found indicating yttrium solubility limit in this structures at below 8 mol%. For all samples electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurements were carried out in air and hydrogen (reduced) atmosphere. In order to determine conductivity type, Seebeck coefficient was measured under reduced conditions. Additionally, for a series of selected model structures, corresponding to experimental compositions, FP-LAPW DFT calculations of electronic structure and bonding properties (using QTAiM approach) were performed.
