Abstract
The Neues Jahrbuch für Geologie und Paläontologie, Abhandlungen (2016) has just published a paper by Trzęsiok et al. entitled: “Oxfordian cryptic fauna from the neptunian dikes of Poland”. Unfortunately, this article makes several unsubstantiated claims about Oxfordian deposits from the Wysoka Quarry in the W part of the Kraków–Częstochowa Upland. Moreover, the Authors misattributed the quotes and do not based the conclusions upon scientifically reliable material. The discussed paper aimed to provide an analysis of cryptic fauna supposedly present in allegedly numerous neptunian dikes cutting through Upper Jurassic rocks at the Wysoka Quarry. The authors claim to be the first, who described Middle Oxfordian cryptic fauna from the neptunian dikes from Poland. However, there are no neptunian dikes at the Wysoka Quarry at all and any discussions about the cryptic fauna inhabiting them are groundless.
