Abstract
Present advances in technology supported by information techniques led to a sharp increase in the techniques and ability to perform observation in both the surveying as well as in other areas of engineering, including dealing with the assessment of the environment (water, air, soils). In conjunction with the corresponding location of the monitored phenomena you can now receive and manage multi-dimensional database of information, to numerically display, visualize, process and analyze data on the environment and the phenomena of changing dynamically. Faculty of Mining Surveying and Environmental Engineering AGH UST specializes in these areas, conducting research in the field of geodesy and cartography and environmental engineering. The following paper is devoted to the presentation of current issues and academic problems which are the subject of our interest. It also presents a faculty education facilities related to the ongoing directions of research.
