Abstract
This paper describes the influence of a gradient magnetic field on the synthesis morphology, phase composition and catalytic activity of nickelnanowires.The synthesis was performed bythe chemical reduction of nickelions in ethylene glycol as a solvent and hydrazine.The synthesis rate is diffusion-controlled and allows for a gradual increase of the nanowiresin the reactor.X-ray examinations have shown that the presence of the magnetic field led toamorphization of the obtained material and positively influencedits catalytic activity in the water-splittingreaction.
